Daisy Chains and Picnics

Seriously, we are into November already!!  Cerys had a hospitality course she had to attend for school on the 1st and 2nd November. She sent me through some photos, this is her with her two friends from class. They made chicken, lettuce and tomato sandwiches for lunch, and she ate it!!! 👌 Her friend wanted to get in the photo 💗

It was our 20th wedding anniversary on Tuesday 10th December. We didn't have anything planned to do, the kids were all working so I made a meal at home for the two of us. We had salmon with garlic butter, mashed sweet potato and asparagus, we also went for a drink at the Claremont. It was Cerys' last day of grade 9 on Thursday and I was pleasantly surprised when she sent me this photo of herself, her friend Zoe and favourite teacher Cindy, who unfortunately is not coming back for grade 10!! Oh, and I bought more decorations for the tree...yep like I need more decos!! 😆 But these are so darn cute and they had 40% off, so it was a necessity you understand!!!😜   Hamish got a dapper bandana We saw Jurassic park in the sky 🐲 And the ugly socks are wrapped for Christmas eve. so that's a wrap for now.

Today Cerys started grade 9.  I was actually surprised and very delighted that she allowed me to take a photo as recently she has been either refusing to get her picture taken or hides her face. Off she goes.

Today was Cerys' last day of grade 8. They went to the Clarence Aquatic centre followed by a BBQ lunch and school based activities back at school. Unfortunately it was raining so not quite sure how the BBQ will go!   Off she goes without so much a glance backwards!

Back to school for Cerys. She started grade 8. She has been looking forward to getting back to school and seeing her friends again. She enjoys the routine of school, which is very pleasing. Off she goes without so much as a glance backwards! What a difference a year makes!

Cerys was asked if she would like to participate in writing a story for a book called Stories of the Brooker Highway. This book celebrates the northern suburbs as a place rich in stories, and a community filled with strong, creative voices. It showcases the stories and images collected from, and created by, communities across Hobart's northern suburbs, re-imagining the life of the Brooker Highway. Stories of the Brooker Highway features stories and images collected from and created by the local community about their experiences living and working around Hobart's Brooker Highway. It was Cerys' grade 6 leavers assembly yesterday, my last primary school age child is on her way up to high school! 😳. The kids all filed in and took their seat, each of the class teachers took the podium and said a few words about the year with their pupils, each child was called up and handed their graduation certificate, there were 8 special end of year awards and we were delighted when Cerys was awarded the Community Spirit Award. Once the awards were given out all the grade 6 pupils went onto the stage to sing their leavers song ' Hall of Fame' chosen by grade 6. After we all piled out to the playground where there was a lot of hugging, tears, T shirt signing, laughter and chatter. Here are a few photos from the day. Receiving her award. I can't believe my youngest has come to the end of her primary school years. Her Leavers Dinner last night was held at the local RSL club from 6-9pm. Her dad took her in his ute, dropped her off at the door where she met some of her friends and watched others arrive, there was a lot of giggling, selfies and chatting. Jodie did her nails. Don't you just love it when you find a gorgeous sneaky selfie on your phone 😊 Selfies with the teachers. The dinner. The last song of the night. Arriving back home after an amazing evening full of fun, laughter and memories.
