Another fab recipe from The Golden Girls cookbook, a hot cup of creamy cocoa to warm you up on a chilly morning. This recipe serves 2 mugs.
What is not to liked about Rose. She is sweet, kind, wholesome. Unwittingly gullible and can never get a joke, but bless her, she is a loving, gentle, curious soul full to the brim with St Olaf stories.
Before you pour the delicious hot chocolate into your mug add a dab of chocolate spread or peanut butter to the bottom of the mug.
Ingredients
1/3 cup evaporated milk
3 Tbsp unsweetened dark cocoa powder
2-3 Tbsp sugar
2 cups milk
Toppings
marshmallows
marshmallow fluff
whipped cream
mini chocolate chips
Method
1. Whisk the evaporated milk, cocoa powder, and sugar together in a small heavy saucepan. Place over a medium-low heat and whisk until the sugar and cocoa are blended with the evaporated milk.
2. Pour the milk in a thin steady stream and continue whisking until the milk is steaming and bubbles form around the edge of the saucepan.
3. Pour into 2 hot mugs, with topping of your choice.
