Who doesn't love milkshakes. There are so many flavours and varieties to choose from, the list is endless.
I made some apple sauce for dinner and had some left over. I decided to try it in a milkshake, then thought about making a Halloween type of milkshake.
To make the apple sauce combine 3 apples, peeled, cored and cut into chunks with 2-3 tablespoons of cold water, 1 tablespoon sugar, 2 teaspoons lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon in a saucepan. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium, cover and cook for 10-12 minutes or until apples have softened. Allow to cool then puree until smooth.
Ingredients
1 packet red jelly
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup ice cream
3 tablespoons apple sauce
1/4 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon sugar
Method
Make up jelly according to packet directions. Pour some at the bottom of your chosen glass. Allow to set. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into your prepared glass.
