The first of my kids to get a tattoo, Cerys, why doesn't that surprise me! 😂. She has been toying with the idea for a while now, but took her time deciding on what it was she wanted.
She designed her tattoo herself around the NEDA symbol and semicolon symbol to represent all she has come through since 2018
She booked an appointment for 12th October 2023, I went in with her as she was a little nervous.
It is a NEDA symbol and a semicolon. The NEDA symbol was originally created by the National Eating Disorders Association. The symbol represents awareness, hope, and recovery for eating disorders. The semicolon - in grammatical terms represents a place where a sentence could end, but continues on. This meaning has been transferred to suicide awareness and prevention as a symbol for battling through suicidal thoughts or behaviour. I am beyond proud of how much she has battled and come through since 2018, and she wears her battle scars now with her head held high, she fought and won, what a trouper!.
Proud of you my little Cindy Lou 💏
