Not far off Route 66 in San Bernardino, California, stands the site of the first McDonald's. Opened in 1948 by brothers Richard (Dick) and Maurice (Mac) McDonald.
Opened 12th December 1998, this museum commemorates the nostalgic history of McDonald's memorabilia comprised from donated McDonald's items from all over the world, spanning many decades, which continues to grow every year.
We were met by a true McDonalds historian, what he didn't know about the history of McDonalds is not worth talking about, he told us people donated McDonalds memorabilia from all over the world which has contributed to the vast amount of items.
We spent ages exploring and the girl's were able to point out toys they recognised from their childhood. It was interesting to see what was popular in each decade.
Old menus, packaging, photos, toys, machinery, and play equipment are littered throughout the building, showcasing the vast history of one of the most popular fast-food companies in the world.
Outside was every bit as interesting as inside, a colourful mural lined the outside wall and the old original play equipment was on show.
