Last night was the opening night of the Sesame Street Circus Spectacular and I was lucky enough to win 4 tickets through Instagram valued at $140.
On our way.
The temperature reached 31°C through the day so it was very hot and sticky in the tent.
It was an amazing experience, the circus performers, which came from Switzerland, Argentina, Colombia, Morocco, Brazil, Ethiopia and Australia were very talented and kept the audiences attention, some with quite daring performances. OK the Sesame Street characters were obviously aimed at the youngsters in the audience but it was great watching and listening to the little ones excitement when their favourite characters appeared on stage.
Below are some of the amazing acts and performances of the evening.
The Wheel of Steel was impressive, two men ran, skipped and flipped through a routine of amazing physical fetes with nothing to attach them to the wheels, I must say it was pretty nerve racking watching them, but their skills and serious lack of fear was spectacular.
This young lady had up to 80 hula hoops going at one time some of which was done while balancing on a mirrored ball.
The cloud swing performed by a highly skilled aerial artist combined elegance and precision skills as she pushed the limits and heights on the edge of her hoop swing.
The spectacular, not to mention hair-raising finishing performance was the Globe of Death.
What started off with one motorbike rider entering and then at high speed circling up down and around a 3-1/2 metre diameter metal globe.
Then incredibly, yet another motorbike entered and there were three of these dare devils swirling and circling around this tiny globe.
Thinking that was impossible, a fourth guy on a motorbike entered into the death defying performance, circling around missing each other by millimetres, the gasps coming from the audience said it all, these guys were simply outstanding.
It truly was the best finale to a fantastic show.
