Savoury Porridge with Mushrooms, Spinach and Kale

Porridge isn't only for breakfast, it can also be for lunch or dinner, try a savoury porridge, it is delicious and tasty, making a healthy nutritious, filling meal. Ingredients 50 g rolled porridge oats 30 g kale leaves, chopped  15 g spinach leaves 70 g mushrooms, sliced 1/2 Tsp fresh thyme leaves, chopped 1/2 Tsp crushed garlic 2 1/4 cups water 15 g Feta, crumbled, plus extra for garnish 1/2 - 1 Tbsp coconut oil Method 1.  Place oats in a pan with the water, stir and bring to boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer gently, stirring occasionally for 20 - 25 minutes or until oats are thick and creamy 2.. MASQUERADE FORMAL at MONA, Grade 12 leavers

Jodie's grade 12 leavers formal was a masquerade ball held at MONA on 18th October from 7.00-10.30 pm. It was a huge success. These young ladies and gentlemen celebrated friendships and bonds that had been created over years of learning together. It was a fantastic way for them to enjoy and let their hair down before the final intense period of study, assessments and exams begin. They finished the evening with dancing and photo booth fun.

Zingy Lemon and Green Tea Loaf

Ingredients 3 eggs 1 cup sugar 1 cup buttermilk 140 g butter 2 Tbsp lemon zest 1 Tbsp green tea powder 2 Tbsp lemon juice 1 1/2 Tsp lemon extract 220 g plain flour 2 Tsp baking powder 1/4 Tsp salt Method 1.  Preheat oven to 180° C. Grease and line a loaf tin. 2.  In a large bowl, add eggs, sugar, buttermilk and butter, whisk until smooth, pale and combined. Add zest, lemon juice and lemon extract and continue whisking until combined. 3.  Sift flour, green tea powder, baking powder and salt into the wet mixture until just combined, don't over mix, some lumps will remain, but that is fine. Pour into loaf tin and bake for 50 - 55 minutes, check with a skewer, if it comes out clean it is ready. Leave in the tin to cool for a few minutes, then turn out onto a cooling rack. Easy Slow cook Meat Lovers Bolognese Sauce

A tasty yet easy slow cook bolognese  meat sauce for meat lovers . Ingredients 1 Chorizo chopped 300 g Primo diced bacon style pieces 500 g minced beef 1 small onion, chopped 1 garlic clove, crushed 1 1/2 Tbsp olive oil 500 g Jar Bolognese sauce 200 ml tomato passata sauce   Method 1.  Heat 1/2 Tbsp oil in a frying pan over a medium heat, add chorizo and bacon pieces and fry until browned to your liking, remove from heat and place aside. 2.  In another large pan, heat 1 Tbsp oil, saute onions until they are clear and soft, add crushed garlic and cook for another minute, add mince d beef, breaking into small pieces with a wooden spoon and brown.  Add chorizo and bacon mix to browned mince and mix through, then add the bolognese sauce and the passata sauce, mix thoroughly. Transfer to slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve with spaghetti, pasta, jacket potatoes or just salad.
