A Day In Photos...Boronia Beach

Nestled between rugged cliffs and tall trees Boronia beach is a beautiful secluded place to swim, snorkel, investigate the many rock pools and picnic. Hidden on the Kingsborough coastline between Kingston and Blackmans Bay it makes for a lovely walk through bushland and cypress pines descending down some stairs where you reach the beautiful clear blues waters of Boronia beach.   There are plenty of rock pools to explore. Check out the stunning cliffs that have been eroded over time.

DIY Name Place Cards

I wanted to make our own name place cards for our Christmas table, so I gave the job to Jodie to design and print them off. She looked through simple designs on the computer and we both liked these ones. She used linen effect card, chose the font, then printed them off using our own printer. I then cut them out with a paper guillotine, then punched a hole at the top left side in which I inserted a sprig of fresh Rosemary. Simple yet effective.

Saturday...Bowling and Burgers

We took the girls bowling this afternoon, it was the first time they have been bowling since Margaret took them in 2016. After a dodgy start, Jodie got 4 strikes. Cerys got 2 strikes. We had lunch at Hungry Jack's.

Australia Day 2018

Happy Australia Day! Scott and I went out for lunch, Cerys was having a sleepover at a friends. We shared a fisherman's basket. I saw these in Coles and was very intrigued as to how they would taste. Both Darren and I love vegemite but the others hate it so I only got the one packet, but both Scott and Jodie liked them. Of course Australia Day wouldn't be the same without a barbie! Jodie made a red and blue jelly. Hope you had a fab Australia Day!

Burns Night 2018

Some people hold parties with all the tradition that comes with a Burns Night celebration, from the grace, usually the Selkirk Grace, address to the Haggis and poetry reading. Selkirk Grace  Some hae meat an canna eat, And some wad eat that want it; But we hae meat, and we can eat, Sae the lord be thankit. We always used to celebrate Burns Night when we lived in Scotland with a supper of haggis, neeps and tatties. We have celebrated once before here in Australia see  here  but as we were in the USA this time last year we didn't get the chance but as Margaret took out a tin of haggis during her last visit, we will be able to do so again this year. For the starter I made Cullen skink  here Haggis, neeps and tatties. Scott made Whisky sauce  here A...
