Madame Tussauds Hollywood...See the Stars!

During our recent holiday to Los Angeles we took the girls to Madame Tussauds, Hollywood where they had great fun 'mingling' with the stars. They got to 'rub shoulders' with a huge amount of famous faces from Marilyn Monroe, Taylor Swift, Johnny Depp to John Wayne, Alfred Hitchcock, ET and previous President Barack Obama, all in all there are 9 different categories to enjoy. A beautiful recreation of a young Madame Tussaud portrays her amazing story that began more than 200 years ago when she started sculpting figures in the French court of Louis XV1. Spirit of Hollywood... Marilyn Monroe, Bette Davis, James Dean, Bob Hope, Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Alfred Hithcock, Elvis Presley, Audrey Hepburn, Charlton Heston, Katharine Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Joan Rivers. Pop Icons... Meet Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Beyonce and Madonna. Marvel Superheroes.. Meet Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine...

Breakfast, Crystals and DIY I made breakfast mushrooms and eggs   with grilled vine tomatoes. Another visit to The Big Tasmanian Rock Shop where I purchased more Crystals. Anzac Caramel Slice

As it was Anzac Day yesterday, I made caramel slices using Anzac biscuits as the base for afternoon tea. They turned out delicious, rich creamy caramel with a crunchy, oaty, buttery, biscuit base. Ingredients for base 225 g Anzac biscuits, crushed 100 g butter, melted Method 1.  Pre-heat oven to 160 degrees C 2.  Combine crushed biscuits and melted butter and press into a lined lamington tin. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden. Ingredients for caramel 395 g sweetened condensed milk 40 g brown sugar 3 Tbsp golden syrup pinch of salt Method 1.  Combine condensed milk, butter, sugar, syrup and salt in a pan over a low/med heat whisking until sugar has dissolved and mixture is smooth and creamy and comes to the boil. 2.  Take off heat and allow to cool slightly.
