Seafood Barbecue on the beach - Okehampton Bay

Scott and I decided to take a day trip locating a beautiful secluded beach so we could enjoy a quiet BBQ on the beach, we stumbled across Okehampton Bay, the views were magical, the ocean was turquoise blue and the only sign of life were seagulls, so that was the perfect spot. Scott set up our folding barbecue, collected some drift wood and set about lighting the fire, we made sure that we were not beside any vegetation for fire hazard reasons, and we had plenty of water at hand, while he was busy setting up I strolled along the beach looking for pretty shells and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. When thee BBQ was hot enough we started cooking our delicious seafood, we had salmon and scallops along with red capsicum, spinach and tomatoes, the end result was amazing, the smoke from the drift wood gave such a great flavour to the fish, we sat down on the sand and washed down our freshly cooked lunch with a delicious glass of Tasmanian white wine. Blackbird in the House

Year round love from Aberdeen

Scott's parents always send us a calendar each year from our home town of Aberdeen. We received our 2017 calendar today but with only mum written on it, Scott's dad suddenly passed away in November last year, ironically we received our 2016 calendar one week before he passed so it came complete with his beautiful handwriting, we miss getting cards and letters with his writing on it. 2016 calendar, we shall keep this on as a keepsake.

TRICK OR TREAT - HALLOWEEN 2016

Happy Halloween 🎃🎃 Pumpkin carving...the girls decided on Bonejangles from the movie Corpse Bride, he is the local entertainer at the Ball and Socket pub, a large-jawed skeleton with only one eye, and wears a bowler hat.  Jodie started by marking out the stencil she had printed on to the pumpkin, then carving it out It turned out really well, she was pleased with her first attempt at pumpkin carving. I made pumpkin soup with the hollowed out pieces of pumpkin. I also made ghost shaped sausage rolls and a red velvet 'bloody" cheesecake.. Going to college in fancy dress 🎃
