Australia Day 2025

While Scott and I spent Australia day in Dover and Cockle Creek, the kids were at home. Ryan came round and they spent the day at home playing games and going in the pool. Australia Day 2024 v's 2025

Dover And Cockle Creek

26th January 2025, Australia Day, Scott and I took a drive to Cockle Creek, which is about 50 minute drive or so from Dover. We had our breakfast using the bacon I bought the day before. I also made up some noodles which I put in flasks for our lunch. Then we headed off. Along the way, we spotted a gorgeous beach called Sayers Beach, so we stopped for a stroll and to take some pics. We hopped back in the car and headed for Cockle Creek which was along a dirt track road! It was really busy with campers and people swimming, so we didn't go on the beach, we strolled along to the Adams Point Whale lookout. It is located on Recherche Bay and is the farthest point south one can drive in Australia. Adams Point Whale statue is a bronze sculpture of an infant Southern Right whale, it is a tribute to the brutal slaying of whales during the 1830's, where four whaling stations were set up at Cockle Creek.
