British Food Tasting Evening

We got a British gift box for Christmas from Margaret and Caroline see  here  with some British food goodies, so I thought about having a British food tasting evening with some of the food that was in the box. I also got some Lincolnshire sausages and a British black pudding reduced in Coles. I had some leftover stovies in the freezer, so we will have those along with the other goodies. I bought a neep to go with the haggis and tatties. Mum sent out some tins of Haggis, so we had one of those. We have been dying to try this pie since we got it at Christmas. The pie turned out really well, the pastry puffed up, but it was very difficult and messy to dish up, we all really enjoyed it, even Jodie ate it. We had a tasty piece of everything and there is still plenty leftover for tomorrow.

Around Here Lately..

16th May 2024, I got Cerys past her final night time drive hour, now she can go for her driving test whenever she feels ready. I started learning them both to drive on 29th January 2024. Cerys' first lessons. 18th May 2024, I got Jodie past her 15 hour night drive. 19th May, I got two shoulder hams reduced, I put them in the freezer, one for Christmas in July and one for Christmas day, so that will be a good saving. A saving of $32.42. And $32.39.

Mother's Day 2024

It was a lovely 18 degree day for Mother's Day. I had already bought my own present which was being kept in Cerys' room until the day (yep, I have to buy my own pressies!). I found this gorgeous perfume set in a charity shop and bought it for the kids to give me. Not to mention, cook my own Mother's Day tea. We did lamb and ribs low and slow on the BBQ, they were both on for over 6 hours. Both cuts of meat were falling off the bone, absolutely delicious. Scott and I finished off the evening watching Stephen King's Thinner.
