Pink Cutlery Bargain

I have been on the lookout for pink cutlery for a while now but didn't want to pay a huge amount for them. I spotted these online at Myer hugely reduced, from $199.95 down to $30, but unfortunately they were sold out online. Scott and I were in town today so I decided to check in store on the off chance that they had them, and to my delight, they had 3 boxes left. But they were marked as $80, I wasn't going to pay that since they were only $30 online, thinking it was an online sale only, I got the salesperson to check the price for me. When he said they were now reduced to $21 I was stunned, (so was he!! 😁), so home they came with me, I am now the proud owner of some very expensive pink cutlery 💃💃. (I bought 2 sets) $400 worth of cutlery for $42...win win!

Around Here Lately......

Cerys woke up 25th October 2023 with extremely swollen, red and sticky eyes, which I instantly knew it was conjunctivitis, knowing we wouldn't be able to get an appointment with the doctor, my first thought was to go to the chemist, but then I had a thought of taking her to the opticians. This photo was taken after treatment, her eyes were way worse than this! Fortunately the optician was able to see us, after examining her, he diagnosed viral conjunctivitis, the most contagious strain, (the other is bacterial). He made up an iodine solution to wash her eyes out with to help minimise the infection. She had to move her eyes in various directions for a few seconds so the solution could get to every part of her eyeball. He then rinsed her eyes out with water. I had to go home and sterilise everything she had touched, also wash her bedding, and  clothes that she has recently worn. She will remain contagious as long as her eyes stay red. It can last 2-3 weeks.

Computer Corner Makeover

The weekend of 14th October 2023, the weather was crap, constant rain and high winds, so we decided to get some indoor projects done. One that was on the list was the computer corner, I wanted it more colourful, but couldn't decide between pink stripes or Tiffany Blue ones, what settled it was my Audrey book by Megan Hess. Flicking through the gorgeous pages of drawings of Audrey Hepburn, I got the thought to turn the book into pictures for the wall. We removed the shelf and pictures then Scott filled the holes and gave it a couple of coats of white paint. He then marked the lines on the wall. We went for horizontal lines on the computer wall and vertical on the main wall. Saturday 21st October rained all day, so we managed to get the project finished. We even found a Breakfast at Tiffany's screensaver 😍

Palm Springs Inspired Cacti/Cactus Garden (Front)

We have finally finished this part of the front garden. We painted the breeze block wall white and Scott painted a sun mural on the fence. We started clearing the front area on 4th February 2023. I wanted a feature wall which had to act as a retaining wall as well. We looked for retaining bricks/blocks in Bunnings but they were expensive and it would have cost more than we were willing to pay out on them. Scott spotted these used breeze blocks on Facebook market place at $5 each, which is a great price for breeze blocks as they often retail at between $15 and $25 each and would you believe the person selling them was basically just round the corner from us. We went round to have a look at the on 5th February 2023 and bought them, we got 84 blocks for $350. They will need to be cleaned up and the cement removed but once they are cleaned and painted white they will look fab, not to mention that breeze blocks are very popular in palm Springs. Before we started the actual garden we p...
