Hall Stand Cabinet Makeover

We were in a second hand shop the other day and spotted this hall stand cabinet and I just instantly knew that it was exactly what I was looking for and where in the house it was going to go, no, not it the hallway but in the living room, replacing a table, and it was going to get a makeover.  I was thinking pink!, pretty pastel pink. It is going to take pride of place here, replacing this table we have had there for years now. We stopped in past Bunnings for some paint samples and decided that this was going to be the colour...Cherry Vanilla by British Paints. We also bought replacement drawer handles. I loved the detailing and the fact it had a mirror and hooks as I could dress it up with different hanging items, and the inside of the drawers had cute lining on them. Being second hand, there were a few bits and bobs that needed attention, one of the door fronts was damaged behind the handle and the one of the back legs had been water damaged, the wood had blown, but Scott ...

Cranberry Funfetti Milkshake

A delicious refreshing shake with cranberries, oats, honey and yoghurt.  By decorating the glass with some fun sprinkles, the kids will wolf this healthier version milkshake down in a couple of gulps! Ingredients 1 cup frozen cranberries 1 cup vanilla yoghurt 3/4 cup milk 1/4 cup oats 1 tbsp honey Method 1.  Brush the inside and rim of the glass randomly with some honey, put some sprinkles in the glass and swirl them around so they stick to the honey, do the same with the rim by putting sprinkles on a plate and rolling the rim around in them. 2.  Put cranberries, oats, milk, yoghurt and honey in a blender. Blend until smooth. Carefully pour the milkshake into the prepared glass. Top with whipped cream (optional) and sprinkles.  By using frozen berries, the milkshake will be deliciously cold. Ideal for a summer cooler. Enjoy.

Damper is a traditional Australian soda bread, historically prepared by swagmen, drovers, stockmen and other travellers. It consists of a wheat flour based bread, traditionally baked in the coals of a campfire or in a camp oven. Damper is an iconic Australian dish. Ingredients 250 g self-raising flour 1/2 tsp salt 25 g unsalted butter, chilled, cubed 175 ml milk Method  1.  Preheat oven to 190°C. Mix the flour with the salt in a large bowl. Add the butter and rub into the flour with the tips of your fingers, until it resembles fine crumbs. 2.  Stir in the milk with a round bladed knife to make a soft, but not sticky dough. 3.  Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and shape into a soft, smooth ball. 4.  Set the ball of dough onto a baking tray line...
