30th December 2019...Pool Fun

Porsha came round just after lunch so she and Jodie went into the pool, it was really windy so they couldn't get any of the pool games in just a couple of rings to float on. The temperature reached 41°C so it was great for them to cool off. It started to thunder at 3 pm so they had to make a quick dash out of the pool. The weather started to calm down a bit after an hour and Cerys was wanting to go into the pool with Scott and I, so we decided to chance it, fortunately there was no more thunder just windy. Jodie and Porsha came back in for a while so we had great fun.

30th December 2019...Weather

Today was a record hot in Hobart, the hottest day in more than 120 years records for December..40.8°C, although it reached 41°C here in Austins Ferry at 2.42 pm. The weather channel on Sunday. Thunder kicked in at 3 pm There was a bushfire near Elderslie and Broadmarsh which is only 18 km away from us, the smoke was very visible and ash was falling into our garden. Scott got a text warning about the nearby fire, this is the first time we have had a message like that. 30 homes were under threat when it broke out at 5 pm.

Boxing Day Pool Fun

And mum spent boxing day at Dawns.

Christmas Day 2019 Part 2

Once everyone had finished opening their gifts, Scott and I carried on with the food preparation, we were in the kitchen when Hannah and Charlette arrived. We had prawn cocktail for starter. Our main was ginger beer glazed ham, lamb with pomegranate and rosemary marinade, roast chicken, gravy, popovers, roast potatoes and veg. I wrote our timings and oven temperatures down so that we could keep note 😜 Behind the scenes 😝😝 After lunch we opened our secret Santa's, then Darren & Hannah left to go to her aunts house and the rest of us played games until Cody came to collect Charlette. We had a blast, it was a truly fun & memorable day spent with loved ones. And just like that, Christmas is over for another year.
