Happy 14th birthday Cerys 🍰🎈🎉
Cerys seriously adores Llama's and Alpaca's so this was what swayed me towards making a Llama cake for her birthday this year.
I bought 2 packets of cake mix and made those up according to the packet directions, I put both cake batters into one cake tin to bake a larger cake.
Once the cake was cool, I evened off the top and coated it with a buttercream frosting, recipe here. I used 2 batches of the frosting to cover the cake and pipe the frosting fur. Once the cake was frosted I crumbled a few milk and white chocolate buttons and sprinkled them over the frosted cake.
I then cut a jam sponge roll to size for the neck and face, we built the face up a bit to make it rounder and give it a snout. I covered them in frosting and placed them on top of the cake.
While I was on washing up duty, Jodie piped the "fur" all over the neck and head.
We used a mini choc chip cookie for the nose and a piece of chocolate button, we also cut a couple of chocolate buttons in half for the eyes, banana chips for ears. We were quite pleased how it turned out, and the birthday girl was delighted.
