The Butchers House Night Away

We decided to take a night away just to relax and spend time taking photos as it is something we haven't done in such a long time, what with one thing and another there hasn't been the time or opportunity to get away for even just a few hours, so we thought we would grab an opportunity before we spend next weekend moving Darren back home.

Saturday 11th September, after dropping Cerys off at work we started our journey to The Butchers House which is in Bothwell, less than one hour from us, I think it was about 45 minutes.

After arriving we spent some time wandering around the tiny town. Bothwell is a small town situated in central Tasmania on the River Clyde, it is notable for hunting and being a lake district.

We then headed to The Butcher's House where we stayed the night.

The Butcher's House is a heritage listed cottage built with convict bricks in the mid 1800s.

With plenty of outdoor seating it is ideal for relaxing in the fresh air with a cup of tea watching the wild rabbits running through the garden.

Walking through the front door transports you back in time, you can imagine the old butcher chopping wood to make a roaring fire while his wife bakes in the kitchen.

While I spent time taking loads of photos, Scott chopped wood to make a fire.

We had to be out by 10 am next morning. We got up and had a cup of tea beside the fire.

We then had breakfast and took a few more photos before leaving.

It sure was nice to have some time to take photos, we haven't had the chance to do this for such a long time.
